I came to Jill to help me back on my feet and back to work after a period of stress-related illness and did just that.  Together, we rebuilt my confidence and worked on my self-awareness to help me to become more resilient.  I was also able to pinpoint the root cause for a lot of my anxiety which enabled me to better prepare myself for certain situations.

I didn’t realise for a long time that I had postnatal depression and when I finally realised I needed help you were quite honestly a lifesaver.  You helped with kindness and empathy to understand what was happening, to find strategies to cope, and to find ways to resolve and to overcome my feelings to the point that I now feel utterly back to normal, positive, happy and energised about the future.  It is so wonderful to feel myself again.  Thankfully those dark days now seem very far away, but I know if I ever need help in the future I can come back to you.

I had been feeling very sad and emotional a lot of the time as well as being very self-critical and having low self-worth which is why I came to Jill. I instantly felt like I could really tell Jill how I was feeling, and she was so kind and caring to me when I needed it most. She listened openly with no judgement and because of her approach, I feel like Jill really got to know me which is why my period of counselling with Jill was so successful.  Together, we identified the cause of my low self-worth and tackled some of my more negative thinking habits. Every session Jill was so supportive, and I slowly began to feel slightly better each week until the good parts were outweighing the bad feelings.  We talked about future situations and self-help exercises I can do when I notice I’m starting to feel overwhelmed and low. This has made me feel confident about moving forwards and being able to cope in the future.  Towards the end of our time together we spoke about how to end the sessions. This was really important for me as I struggle with abrupt endings where I feel like I have no control. Jill was aware of this and made sure I felt like I was in full control of when and how the sessions would end. The most reassuring thing is that I know I can contact Jill in the future if I need her help and I can’t thank her enough for the support she has given me.
