Post-Natal Depression

A healthcare professional may have suggested counselling for post-natal depression/anxiety or you may have decided yourself, that you would like some help.  I know how hard it can be sometimes.  This is an area that’s close to my heart and I’m here if you’d like to talk to someone.

A combination of physical symptoms such as feeling exhausted, headaches, panic, can’t concentrate, can’t stop crying, problem eating… and difficult emotions like feeling useless, upset, angry, depressed, anxious, scared… can overwhelm you to the point of feeling very low and helpless.

Perhaps you’re a bit of a perfectionist and not being able to keep everything going the same way as you did before the baby arrived is causing anxiety and distress.

You don’t have to keep struggling on your own – you can feel better as you give yourself permission and time to understand your emotions, and to express how you are feeling.

Having a safe, confidential space to talk to someone impartial and non-judgmental, can really help you focus on your recovery.  Sometimes non-maternal related issues in your life add to your problems and it can be useful to talk about these too.
