Online Counselling
Online counselling is now well established and has proved to be as successful as face-to-face sessions for many of my clients.
It's a popular choice and has several advantages:
- Choice - Meeting online opens up a breadth of choice of counsellors, allowing you to find a therapist with the expertise you are looking for, or who feels right for you
- Convenience - There's no need to travel to see your therapist each week, saving on time and cost
- Flexibility - You can continue your counselling even when you are away, if that suits you. Face-to-face clients can opt for an online session any time that it would be helpful
- Privacy - If you'd like a bit of distance between you and your counsellor, online sessions are a great choice - we're not likely to bump into each other in town!
- Disinhibition - Talking together via video link can increase "disinhibition". Meaning that clients are sometimes able to open up more quickly about personal things. This is often helpful in counselling and can help clients to achieve their aims more quickly
- Comfort - Easily access our sessions from the comfort and security of your own home
- Compatability - Research shows that finding a counsellor with whom you are able to connect really well, is a major part of how successful the therapy will be for you
